Moving home is stressful enough for a dog or cat. In this region it comes with extra hurdles: your society wants a written request and a lift slot, the lane outside may be too narrow for a full-size vehicle, and between June and September the rain can reshuffle your day. We plan these before moving day so your pet spends as little time in transit as the route allows.
We work from our own office in Sector 21, Ghansoli, so Navi Mumbai nodes from Airoli to Panvel, Thane West along Ghodbunder Road and Mumbai's suburbs are routes we run regularly. How much do pet relocation services in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai cost?
Multishift has not published fixed per-pet rates, so we do not quote a number you cannot rely on. Your price is set per pet and per route after a free consultation, and depends on distance, floor and lift access, the carry from door to vehicle, the crate or carrier needed and the date. GST and tolls are extra. If the move includes household goods, those follow our published packers and movers price list.
Do you really move pets, or only household goods?
Pet relocation is handled as a separate service from standard packing and loading. Our household crews pack and carry belongings; pets are planned individually with you at the consultation, and a pet is never placed inside the closed container that carries household goods. Which pets can you move, and where?
This page covers road-based moves of dogs and cats within and between Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane. Rabbits, birds and other small pets are considered case by case at the consultation, so tell us the species and size when you call. For other routes, or if you need air travel, call us first and we will tell you honestly what we can and cannot arrange.
How early should I book pet relocation for a move in Mumbai?
Contact us as soon as your moving date is fixed. For the household side of a local move we advise 3 to 7 days ahead, and 2 to 4 weeks ahead in March to June, on month-end weekends and around Ganesh Chaturthi and Diwali, when slots fill quickly. Mid-week dates between October and February are usually the easiest to schedule.
Do I need society permission to move with a pet in Mumbai?
Almost all co-operative housing societies and high-rise apartments in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai ask for written permission and a lift slot before a move, usually 2 to 3 working days ahead. Many societies also have their own rules for pets in lifts and common areas, so ask your society office early. How long does a local pet move take?
A local move within Mumbai, Navi Mumbai or Thane is normally completed in a single day, and we plan the pet's journey to be as short and direct as the route allows. Routes along Ghodbunder Road in Thane West can stretch over 15 km, so those are scheduled outside the morning and evening rush.
Can you move pets from narrow lanes or hill-slope sectors?
Yes. A full-size truck cannot always reach the door in places like Ghansoli Gaon, the market lanes of Old Panvel or the hill-slope sectors of Kharghar such as Sector 20 and Sector 35. We plan a smaller tempo and the final carry in advance, so tell us about access when you book.
Do you move pets during the monsoon?
Yes, with planning. From June to September we keep timings flexible around heavy rain, and Navi Mumbai can see waterlogging at the peak of the monsoon, so we suggest a flexible date window if your move falls in July or August. Household goods travel with waterproof covering.
Can I combine my pet's move with my household shifting?
Yes. Tell us at the consultation and we plan both together so the pet is settled away from the loading and carrying, then brought to the new home once the entrance, lift and a quiet room are ready. Goods and pet are quoted clearly, so you see what each part costs.
What should I keep ready before moving day?
Keep your pet's vaccination record and your vet's contact details handy, along with the usual essentials: food, water, bowls, a familiar blanket, leash or carrier and, for cats, a litter tray. Your vet can advise on fitness to travel, and we cannot replace that advice. Pack a separate pet essentials box that travels with you, not with the household goods.
Do you give a GST invoice for pet relocation?
Yes. Multishift Packers and Movers Pvt Ltd is GST registered, and we provide a GST-compliant invoice for eligible moves. Ask for it at the time of booking. Registration documents are available on request from our homepage.
